Learn About FEATS – Financial Educational Assistance and Training Scholarships

FEATS was established by the board of the Ingersoll Community Foundation as a dedicated scholarship and educational assistance program designed to support individuals who may not qualify for traditional scholarships. A volunteer committee carefully reviews all applications and makes recommendations.
As our website evolves, we look forward to offering online applications, helpful tools, and valuable resources for students and FEATS recipients. Stay tuned for updates!
FEATS Stories & Testimonials
A current recipient was introduced to FEATS by an IDCI Guidance Counsellor who recognized that OSAP and family funding would not be sufficient for tuition and the cost of living. An application was submitted to the FEATS Committee and a positive recommendation was made to the Board of the Ingersoll Community Foundation, providing upwards of $10,000 for this student for each of their four years in university, conditional upon both annual and semi-annual reviews of their academic performance. This recipient is now entering their second year of an engineering program at the University of Ottawa

The partnership between the Ingersoll Community Foundation and Community Employment Services (CES) plays a vital role in expanding access to education and training for individuals in the Ingersoll community. The Foundation’s support fills a critical funding gap for those who are not eligible for traditional programs such as OSAP or Better Jobs Ontario, ensuring that education remains within reach for those who need it most.
In today’s competitive labour market, especially during periods of economic uncertainty access to education and upskilling is essential. The assistance we receive from the Foundation allows CES to help clients gain the skills, credentials, and confidence they need to compete for stable, in-demand employment.
Through this partnership, CES assists clients with applications, budgeting, and planning their education pathways. The Foundation’s investment ensures that each client can pursue their career goals without the burden of repayment. Together, CES and the Foundation are creating meaningful, lasting impact by empowering individuals in the Ingersoll community with the education, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed.
